September Fertilize with nitrogen in early September to provide nutrients to summer-stressed landscape plants, including trees, shrubs, vines, ground covers and perennials.  Water thoroughly the day before and immediately after application to help prevent fertilizer burn. Continue irrigating Bermuda hybrid lawns every two to three days during high temperatures.  If temperatures begin to drop below 90 degrees, extend the days between watering.
