November Monitor water needs of all plants as temperatures cool.  Adjust automatic timers on irrigation systems.  Water plants in the morning, if possible, rather than later in the day, to prevent transference of fungal infections.  Taper off fertilizing rose bushes until spring.  Fertilizing encourages fresh, tender growth, which is frost-sensitive.
